Each week students will have reading, math, and spelling homework. Reading stories are introduced at the beginning of the week and tests are at the end of the week.  Some stories may take longer or shorter periods of time depending on the content of the story. Each student will write in there planner what their homework is and when any upcoming tests may be. Spelling lists are introduced on THURSDAYS.  Then the test is given on the following Thursday.  I found over the years that some students need additional time to master words so this schedule works for everyone and students may study at the pace that is needed. A cart will be sent home with reading,spelling words, and a list of the stories for the unit.  That way parents have an overview for the month. Math will be a worksheet that reinforces the concept tight that day. If your child is struggling with homework, please send me a note so I am aware and can work with them in the morning.
